Putting this here largely for accountability as I’ve been trying to drink less for now roughly about 12.5 years, 17 stops and starts, a 2020 Lent where I didn’t touch a drop (but the pandemic and bars being closed helped), a failed relationship, failed friendships, failed jobs, and more. I think I’m getting closer. Not there yet, but closer. Been to a few AA meetings of late, which is a start of some kind. I just want to be better.

Well done. Keep trying. It’s an almost zen discipline. There is a grace in continuing to try. No matter how challenging it might be.
