The Big Lie is the form of self-deception that the Trump-aligned alt-right uses to deny the room that awaits their ideology as young adults enter society and can vote. The entire MAGA platform has no currency amongst most of Gen X, the vast majority of Gen Y and nearly the entirety of Gen Z.
Focusing on conspiracy theories provides a comforting lie to the doomed MAGA movement — “there’s nothing wrong with us, everything is great, we lose because of fraud.”
Someone will come along and disrupt that thinking on the right — either in the form of a GOP leader who has a spine and cleans things up ala Liz Cheney, or via a new Conservative party that embraces conservative economic and foreign policy principles as well as rejects alt-right racism, sexism, transphobia, homophobia, xenophobia and misogyny.
